Day 1 – HRaM Didactic Sessions with Hands-on Exercise

Anorectal Anatomy & Physiology

  • Anatomy and physiology of the anus and rectum, including sphincters, muscle groups and innervation which affect defecation and continence

 

Anorectal Manometry Study Components & Normal Values

  • Understanding the study components and normal values for anorectal evaluation

 

Anorectal Manometry Study Demonstration & Waveform Analysis

  • Live demonstration of the HRaM study acquisition
  • Review a normal study discussing manometric patterns and normal values
  • Hands-on Exercise Session with a Clinical Specialist providing real-time training for the setup, acquisition, and analysis of the motility study

 

Day 2 – HRaM Didactic Sessions with Hands-on Exercise

Treatment of Anorectal Disorders

  • Medical and surgical interventions for the treatment of fecal incontinence, constipation, obstructive defecation, and anal pain.

 

Pudendal Nerve Latency Testing

  • This session provides a basic overview of the principles and protocol of pudendal nerve latency testing
  • Hands-on Exercise Session with a Clinical Specialist providing real-time training for the setup, acquisition, and analysis of the motility study

 

Analysis of the Abnormal Study

  • In depth review of waveforms of abnormal patient studies
  • Interactive session discussing how findings relate to the patient’s symptoms and treatment

 

Pelvic Floor Retraining

  • Basic overview of the principals and protocol of pelvic muscle retraining for the patient with weak pelvic muscles and obstructive defecation
